Tim Thorpe

Based in Wellington, Tim Thorpe Consulting provides a wide range of services to clients. It is operated by its Director Tim Thorpe. Tim has a mixed working background initially in the forestry sector then more latterly in the screen and related industries.

Tim’s career in the screen industry began in 2000 when he joined the Ministry of Economic Development working in sector development. One of the sectors in which he worked was the screen industry building on the success of The Lord of the Rings.

In 2004, Tim was appointed Executive Director of the industry-led NZ Screen Council. In this role he worked on a broad range of issues such as intellectual property, tax, government funding schemes, business development, and education and training.

In 2008, Tim established Tim Thorpe Consulting Ltd. Since that time Tim has worked for a number of clients  in research & analysis, policy, strategic advice  and increasingly executive production. More latterly he is providing advice on health and safety management drawing on  his experience in both forestry and the screen industry. Projects that Tim has worked on cover film, television, music, museums, video games and other interactive media.

In his spare time, Tim is a member of ukulele band Free & Frank. In 2014, he co-founded the Game Developers of Wellington meetups.
